What’s going on with me…

November 12th, 2007 by Karen

Well, Ihad a great summer thanks to Terri. Going to Austria was amazing! During my trip we also went to Wroclaw in Poland, Venice in Italy and Zagreb in Croatia - all by car from Vienna. My longest car journey was 11 hours - but thats cos the weather was bad, Terri had to drive and wasn’t feeling to good… that was the trip to Wroclaw (Pronounced Rots-woth. Crazy language is Polish, I should know - I heard to 24/7!). Driving through the mountains to get to Venice was glorious, I was just thanking God the whole way for such awesome landscapes, whilst listening to worship music of course. And singing along.
You won’t believe how much chocolate and presents I brought back! My suitcase weighed around 30kg on the way back, compared to the 25kg on the way there… Anyway I had a lovely time and I wish to go again sometime… but not just yet, I’m saving to go sking again for the 3rd time next Easter - same place, same trip. I just can’t get enough of it!

So at the beginning of September I went into Year 11 at school which is my 5th year so: important exams in June! Oh yes, my GCSEs are getting closer and it feels even more close now because this week and next week I have my mock GCSEs. These are to get a predicted grade for exma sin June, also to get a feel of what they are like and to get used to revising so much… which is what I should be doing now, revising German for my exam tomorrow but… oh, I could write this in German… then mum and dad can’t say it’s not revision! But unfortunatly I’m not that good…!

Yeah… so that’s what’s going on with me…

Much love, Karen -x-

The Summer is here!

July 30th, 2007 by Karen

I’m writing this instaead of packing. Whoops. But I haven’y written on here in ages and I thought I would. This Summer our family has gone and are going all over the world. Mum and Dad are off to Guernsey again on their own. David has gone to New Zealand for his Gold DofE. Simon has gone to Spain and is going to Canada aswell, and as for me, I’m off to Austria to see Terri Plater, my Godmother. She lives in Vienna, so I’m flying there and we’re going to go to Venice in Italy for a short time, and two different places in Poland, and we’ll be driving through a number of other countries too. All of this over 3 weeks. I havent spent this amount of time away from home before and I’m sure it’ll be an experience!

I’ve just had end of year exams, and I got mostly B’s, and I’m expected to go up a grade next year so hopefully, crossing fingers I’ll be getting A’s :)

So thats what’s been happening recently and what is going to happen over the summer. In September Simon will be in his 3rd and last year of University to finish his degree. David is going into his last year at secondary school to do his A2’s, and I will be going in to year 11 (5th year) to to my GCES’s.

Crossed fingers and hopes all around next year…

Over the past month I have been quite busy. I have had a load of school work literally dumped on my head. Drama has been the worst for this. I have already done 4 essays and am working on a 5th. That is this (school) year alone! Then I’ve done a couple for English and one for German. Then theres all the homework and the External Science exam I had today. See what I mean? But that’s GCSEs I guess.

A couple of weeks ago at school we had our yearly production. It was ‘Grease’ and I was in the crew. I kept on saying I was in it and people were like ‘oh who are you playing?’. Pisses me off when they say that! There is such thing as the crew y’know. If it weren’t for us, there would be no lighting, sound, props, set, backdrop and the curtains wouldn’t even open! Ahem, I would go off into a rant but I won’t. I will keep my temper. Anyway, it ran for 4 nights and generally it was really good. I enjoyed it.
Dad has a really bad cold at the moment so that’s all my car lifts out the window. :P

Well, it’s nearly Christmas! The tension is staring and it’s getting colder. It was the end of school at about 3.30/4.00 and the sun was already basically set.

That’s enough from me.

A Kodak Moment?

That Kodak Advert

Haha… I love this Kodak advert.

The little kids voice is so funny. Anyway, why I’m writing about this is because I used one of those Kodak machines for the first time the other day.. They are very easy to use and it’s pretty good value for money too at 39p per print. The more you do the cheaper it gets.. It doesn’t take long to print them out once you’ve paid at the counter and it accepts pretty much any form of media, including bluetooth, infra-red, cds and all kinds of flash cards. The pictures weren’t the best quality because they were taken on my phone and the camera isn’t so great.. So if you want prints of your digital photos, get yourself to Boots or other retailers with the Kodak kiosks. […]

The Beach

Back home, I live in one of the furthest places away from any beach in the whole country. I think Sheffield trumps us but that’s it. Now that I live in Norwich which is but a short train ride from the seaside towns of Great Yarmouth or Lowestoft I still haven’t been to the beach. In fact I still haven’t done half the things I planned on doing when I moved to Norwich […]

Winter is Coming

Have you got your coat?Darn it. I’ve lost my coat, somehow. No idea where it is and it was a good one too. I’m starting to feel the cold now, it’s suddenly got freezing cold round the Norwich area. The central heating in our house isn’t working yet either - I dunno if this is […]
